How we are funded

The Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic is a self funded 501(c))(3) non-profit foundation. We have an annual budget of nearly $350,000. Those funds come from foundation grants, local businesses, private donations and fundraisers. We also receive donations of supplies that help limit what we need to buy, this has been everything from medical exam beds to papertowels.

With that small budget we are able to provide nearly 3000 office visits and more than 1 million dollars worth of medication. Assuming that each office visit avoids a visit to the ER then each year the clinic saves Oakland county from nearly 3 million dollars in unpaid bills.

It must be said that none of this could take place without the dedication and service of our amazing team of volunteers.

According to the 2014 report by the NAFCC. "Over the last two years, Free and Charitable Clinics have seen a 40 percent increase in patient demand, but a 20 percent decrease in donations." Full article here.
